<p>Pocket Mode is an application designed to address a common issue encountered by smartphone users: accidental interactions when the device is stored in a pocket or other enclosed spaces. By detecting when the phone is in such environments, Pocket Mode effectively disables the display, reducing the likelihood of unintended phone calls, text messages, or unintentional app launches. This functionality aims to alleviate the frustrations associated with these occurrences.</p>

<p>The development of Pocket Mode stemmed from the realization that stock Android does not offer this essential feature, leading to frequent disruptions while the device is in a pocket. This shortcoming necessitated a solution to enhance user experience.</p>

<p>The application is offered completely free of charge and is open-source, with donations accepted but not providing enhanced benefits to users.</p>

<h2>How it Works:</h2>
<p>Upon activation, Pocket Mode monitors the proximity sensor for a brief moment. If it detects that the sensor has been obstructed for a specified duration during this interval, the app promptly turns the screen off again.</p>

  <li><i>Accessibility service</i> — Pocket Mode utilizes this service to lock the screen without requiring additional input, thus preserving a seamless user experience.</li>
  <li><i>android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED</i> — This permission ensures that the app's services restart automatically following a device reboot.</li>
  <li><i>android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE</i> — This permission allows for the pausing of screen locking during active calls, preventing disruptions during communications.</li>
